Microsoft Corporation Senior Software Engineer in Redmond, Washington

The Business Application Platfrom (BAP) Emerging Technology Team, which is the parent team for Microsoft Copilot Studio, Frontline, and Copilot AI, is looking for a talented Senior Software Engineer focused on operational excellence, security best practices, developer tooling, and services. This role will be assisting teams with all aspects of security work, operational excellence of services, and building tools and reports to automate processes. Candidate should be be highly proficient in DotNet, Azure, and have a sufficient working knowledge of, or eager to learn, Javascript, Python, and data pipeline technologies. This is a role where you would not just code, but rather help envision and implement ways to improve our daily processes and operational needs. You'll also be working to help plug technical gaps, identify processes to automate, and building Copilots to perform those automations.

  • Design & implementation through well-defined interfaces across multiple components, code reviews, leveraging data/telemetry to make decisions.

  • Gain a working understanding of Microsoft as a business and collaborate with mentors and leaders in order to contribute to cohesive, end-to-end experiences for our users.

  • Collaborate with engineering counterparts across teams and organizations as necessary to deliver effective engineering solutions

  • Provide guidance for technical decisions.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

  • OR equivalent experience

  • Demonstrated technical design, architecture, problem solving, and debugging skills.

  • Experienced with DotNet and Azure.

  • Experience in standing up and working with Build Tooling infrastructure.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of industry experience working on commercial software application or services.

  • 3+ years of working in a high-scale SaaS or PaaS environment building and supporting hosted services.

  • Experience with conversational systems, building ML tooling or working with LLM’s, Voice Assistant skills, natural language processing concepts and fundamentals.

  • Working knowledge of C#, JavaScript, TypeScript, or Python.

Software Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $117,200 - $229,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $153,600 - $250,200 per year.
