Amazon Sr. Security Industry Specialist, Kuiper Security in Redmond, Washington

Description

Project Kuiper is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world.

This role is open for Sunnyvale, CA, and Redmond, WA.

The Senior Security Industry Specialist in Project Kuiper's Security team will drive security risk management for our world-class cyber and information security throughout Kuiper's technology, systems, and infrastructure. This role is at the forefront of delivering highly secure space and terrestrial broadband telecommunication services for consumer, enterprise, telecom, transportation and government customers around the world.

The successful candidate will be a hands-on security expert who thrives in the face of ambiguity, and has a proven track record of delivering high-impact cross-functional goals. In this role, they will establish and lead ongoing projects and programs focused on security risk management.

The ideal candidate is technically experienced and innovative security, risk, and compliance who has the ability to understand systems, security, and privacy processes, communicate to customers, and to be able to drive innovative process changes through multiple organizations and teams. You have experience with NIST Risk Management Framework (NIST 800-30).

Export Control Requirement:

Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Key job responsibilities

  • Develop and implement risk frameworks to provide transparency to drive high judgement decisions

  • Analyze the security of devices, applications and services to identify security risks and mitigations, and quickly react to new threat scenarios

  • Work closely with hardware and software engineers to identify the root cause of control deficiencies

  • Drive execution and maintain alignment through creating program management structure and engagement with engineers, leaders and executives

  • Review security controls that are technical in nature, such as access controls, data encryption in transit and at rest, and auditing and logging user activity

Basic Qualifications

  • 8+ years’ experience managing product compliance issues, preferably within a technology company, analyzing regulatory requirements, and developing policies and procedures for NIST 800-53

  • Experience implementing risk management frameworks and assessing security risks of devices, services, and applications

  • Highly organized and able to build trusting relationships with stakeholders at various levels across the organization

  • Experience in large-scale project management roles, preferably in product regulatory compliance

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with ITAR and EAR controlled data

  • CPA, CMA, CISA, CIA, CISM or similar risk, audit, or compliance credentials

  • Strong data-driven analytical skills, with experience in establishing and tracking program metrics

  • Experience effectively articulating recommendations/conclusions both verbally and in written form

  • Proven ability to balance competing priorities and deliver amidst ambiguity

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $107,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $229,700/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
