Microsoft Corporation Technical Program Manager II in Redmond, Washington

From ExaBytes, to ZettaBytes, to YottaBytes and beyond, Azure Storage leads the industry in Advanced offloads and accelerations, powering high performance Cloud scale Storage and Networking. The Microsoft Azure Storage Engineering team is looking for a Technical Program Manager II to work on a unique and highly visible role with major scope to identify and operationalize new storage offload technologies on Microsoft Azure platforms. Responsibilities

  • You will work with Software and Hardware Engineering to design technical solutions. You’ll also identify risks and propose data-based mitigations.

  • You will define success criteria as you collaborate with others to implement features for cross-functional projects. You’ll coordinate and ensure alignment across teams.

  • With minimal supervision, you will help deliver on roadmap for feature groups, track project schedules, develop staging and implementation, and stay updated with governance programs.

  • You will drive continuous improvements by validating use cases and partnering with other departments to collect performance metrics. You’ll also contribute to customer support and participate in direct customer engagements.

  • You will have the opportunity to solve some of the toughest problems in hyperscale storage platforms, identify and recommend business investments in a broad range of technical areas, and integrate with multiple partner teams inside Microsoft Azure as well as across the company.

  • You will analyze large sets of data and use pragmatic technical judgment to assess and make the right business decisions.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • 1+ year(s) of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Electrical/Computer Engineering, AND 2+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development OR equivalent experience.

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Additional / Preferred Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.

  • 1+ year(s) of experience reading and/or writing code (e.g., sample documentation, product demos).

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Electrical/Computer Engineering AND 4+ years of experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development OR equivalent experience.

Technical Program Management IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $94,300 - $182,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $120,900 - $198,600 per year.
