Expected Duration: 06+ Months Job Type: Contract (>=30 HRS WEEKLY) (Remote) Pay Range: $90-$120/HR Please note that actual compensation may vary within this range due to factors such as location, experience, and job responsibilities, and does not encompass additional non-standard compensation (e.g., benefits, paid time off, per diem, etc.). Job Title: Technical Program Manager III Duration: 06+ Months Contract Location: Remote Job Descriptions: Technical Program Manager will support a Client's Reality Labs Research team that is working on the future of input and interaction for augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR). This role will focus on managing a cross-functional firmware workstream through the planning and execution phases while working with researchers and engineers. Other aspects of the job will include communicating with stakeholders, coordinating resources and timelines, interfacing with partner teams in Reality Labs Research and external vendors. RESPONSIBILITIES * Work with internal research/engineering teams to define roadmaps/milestones, track statuses of multiple projects, lead regular check-ins (weekly, monthly, quarterly, etc.), identify and escalate dependencies and risks, seek and reduce inefficiencies * Develop, maintain, and hold teams accountable to schedules while accounting for technical challenges and available resources * Coordinate cross-functional interactions/dependencies and align disconnected teams * Communicate program progress to cross-functional stakeholders through internal posts and meetings * Organize and maintain information and task management systems * Develop new lightweight processes as needed and improve existing processes based on feedback/retrospectives, keeping teams moving fast while minimizing unnecessary overhead REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS * 4+ years of experience as a technical program manager, working with engineers or researchers and driving project progress and schedules * 1+ years' experience managing vendors and external suppliers * Excellent written and verbal communication skills * Excellent computer skills and proficient with project management tools (e.g. Google Suite, Asana, etc.) * Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, proactiveness, and resourcefulness * Excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple concurrent activities with ambiguity and to work successfully under pressure PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS * Experience in firmware development and human-computer interaction * Experience in program management, process definition/improvements, relevant tools, and methodologies (e.g. Agile) * Experience with research, academic, and/or startup environments * Experience working autonomously with team members from diverse backgrounds (scientists, engineers, program managers, supply chain, finance contacts, lawyers) and teams at different levels in the organization EDUCATION * Bachelors in computer science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience in areas of computer science (firmware) required * MBA, M.S./Ph.D. or other related advanced degree preferred Must-Have Skills * Background in software * Strong experience in TPM, schedules, stakeholders, plans dealing with risk. * firmware knowledge/experience.
