Northrop Grumman has an opening for either a level 3 or level 4 Cost Estimating Analyst to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals! This position will be located on site in Redondo Beach, California with partial telework available .

Essential Functions:

  • Estimating material, tooling and labor costs based on requirements laid out in customer Request for Proposals (RFPs)

  • Compiling cost, schedule, and technical details to meet RFP specifications

  • Analyzing bills of material and historical cost data to develop and maintain models that can be utilized in proposal preparation

  • Preparing cost reports and presenting findings to peers, management and customers is required

  • Risk assessment during proposals and contributes to pricing initiatives and continuous improvement

  • Participating in contract negotiations and understanding supplier cost and price analysis requirements

  • Collaboration with various departments is necessary to develop strategies that meet proposal requirements and deadlines

This position may be filled as either a level 3 Principal Cost Estimating Analyst or level 4 Sr Principal Cost Estimating Analyst.

Basic Qualifications for level 3:

  • Bachelor's Degree with 5 years of Business Management, Pricing, Cost Estimating and/or Finance experience OR a Master's Degree with 3 years of related experience

  • Intermediate experience with Microsoft Office tools, specifically performing Least Square Regression, Pivot Table Analysis, and application of Improvement Curves by type and advanced functions

  • Able to obtain/maintain a Security Clearance within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the business

Basic Qualifications for level 4:

  • Bachelor's Degree with 8 years of Business Management, Pricing, Cost Estimating and/or Finance experience OR a Master's Degree with 6 years of related experience

  • Intermediate experience with Microsoft Office tools, specifically performing Least Square Regression, Pivot Table Analysis, and application of Improvement Curves by type and advanced functions

  • Able to obtain/maintain a Security Clearance within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the business

Preferred qualifications:

  • Aerospace/Defense industry experience

  • Experience with FAR and DFARs

  • Supply Chain experience

  • Knowledge of SAP/ERP

  • Operations touch labor improvement curve theory and modeling

  • Strong presentation skills

  • Experience in communicating technical and theoretical analysis

  • Experience in supporting negotiations

  • In-depth understanding of Manufacturing and Support Labor and how they interact

Salary Range: $88,700 - $133,100

Salary Range 2: $109,900 - $164,900

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
