Army Installation Management Command Motor Vehicle Operator (CYS) NA-06 in Redstone Arsenal, Alabama

Summary This position is with Child and Youth Services at the Redstone Arsenal near Huntsville, AL. This announcement may be used to fill additional vacancies throughout the program. Responsibilities Develops and follows efficient, consistent and safe bus routes for routine trips (e.g., to and from school) to minimize transportation time. Ensures the safety and well-being of children, youth and adults being transported to and from the program and on field trips. Practices bus evacuation following prescribed procedures with children and youth on a monthly basis. Arranges for and ensures completion of routine maintenance of bus (e.g., oil change) transporting the bus to and from maintenance facilities. Completes a comprehensive written inspection of the bus daily, reporting any concerns to the supervisor before transporting children/youth. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications High school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma. Ability to communicate in English at a level to assure the duties described can be accomplished in a safe and satisfactory manner. Experience in accomplishing the types of duties described in this job. Also: Requires a valid state driver's license to operate a 15-passenger vehicle OR Requires a commercial driver's license (CDL) with no restrictions to operate a 24-passenger vehicle. Education Proof of education must be submitted with the application along with a copy of a current valid driver's license. Acceptable documents for proof of education are a high school diploma, a high school transcript (showing the graduation date), a GED certificate, a college transcript listing courses that were taken, or proof of a college degree. PCS Costs Payment of Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs is not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government's interest. FWS Allowances and Differentials This is a federal wage schedule (FWS) position. All FWS employees are entitled to overtime work for work in excess of 8 hours in a day or in excess of 40 hours in the administrative workweek, whichever provides the greater benefit to the employee. Regular full-time, regular part-time (to include those in a limited tenure appointment category) and regularly scheduled flexible employees are entitled to Sunday premium pay when working Sunday shifts. A FWS employee will be paid a night shift differential of 7.5% for the entire shift when a majority of the employee's regularly scheduled non-overtime hours of work occur between the hours of 1500 and 2400. A FWS employee will be paid a night shift differential of 10% of the scheduled rate if a majority of the employee's regularly scheduled non-overtime hours of work occur between the hours of 2300-0800..
