CACI Inc. is seeking a Broadcast Engineer that will support the FEMA sponsored National Public Warning System Sustainment (NPWS)Task. Will include but are not limited to researching all aspects of Primary Entry Point (PEP) Training, Exercise, Testing, Operations and Maintenance (O&M) to ensure the National Emergency Alert System (EAS) and other sub-systems are understood and ready for use under all conditions (sub-systems include large capacity fuel tanks, day tanks, all-hazards protected shelters, generators, AM and FM transmitters, fuel monitoring, radio studio equipment).

Requires a significant amount of travel (up to 75%) to FEMA-provisioned NPWS facilities located at key broadcast facilities across the Unites States and its territories while conducting routine system exercise, inspection, and verification and developing reports based on existing procedures, practices, and protocols.

What You’ll Get to Do

  • Must have excellent communications skills (both oral and written).

  • Operational knowledge of the NPWS and associated devices including broadcast transmitters, studio consoles, long-form programming, emergency power generation systems and other related equipment is preferred.

  • Provide valuable insight into determining the operational testing and maintenance frequency of all NPWS EAS related equipment and ensure captured data is well documented and archived in the NPWS Operations Portal.

  • Be a “self-starter” and have the ability to work within a team in a structured but unsupervised environment.

  • Conduct site visits to exercise equipment, look for problems, and train radio station personnel.

  • Work with station personnel to resolve testing problems.

  • Perform low-level, equipment-specific programming.

  • Troubleshoot communications failures (fiber, satellite, phone)

  • Analyze equipment problems to determine best solution.

  • Analyze data collected to produce comprehensive reports for the client and CACI Program Manager

  • Manage equipment replacement or major repair projects.

  • Work with vendors to resolve issues with fuel systems and generators.

  • Assist with tracking maintenance & repair activities to ensure all stations in the Program are ready and available.

  • Research and provide innovative solutions to improve the program.

  • Participate in meetings internally and with the government contacts as required.

You’ll Bring These Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience

  • 5 years’ experience in radio engineering

Since this position can be worked in more than one location, the range shown is the national average for the position.

The proposed salary range for this position is:

$68,400-$143,700
