House of Blues Payroll Coordinator in Remote - Colorado, United States

Job Summary:

THE JOBThe Payroll Coordinator will work closely with the Staffing & Admin Operations Manager to implement compliant payroll systems and onboard all freelance staff. This role will oversee the entire payroll process, including the advance and budgeting of all staffing plans, onboarding, time tracking, and payroll processing.This role requires someone detail-oriented, self-motivated, highly organized, and able to continually prioritize deadlines while balancing multiple projects. The person in this role will possess the skills and ability to lead and initiate new processes. The candidate will also demonstrate strong communication and problem-solving skills.   • Implement compliant time tracking and payroll systems

  • Assist with organizing current staff master to ensure hourly rates are within budget

  • Implement a new hourly pay process based on employees' minimum wage based on the state they live in.

  • Onboard new hires and process payroll accordingly

  • Oversee all payroll changes (e.g. new hires, rate changes) and system upgrades

  • Accurately track staffing budgets each billing cycle

  • Monitor and alert the Staffing & Admin Operations Manager of any workers that may be going over budgeted pay

  • Process payroll for all non-exempt employees

  • Understand proper tax compliance and overtime regulations with relevant laws and internal policies

  • Ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely

  • Daily time tracking approval and reconciliation during events

  • Maintain accurate records and prepare weekly payroll reports

  • Resolve issues and answer payroll-related questions

  • Monitor changes and remain current on legal, regulatory, or governmental requirements

  • Oversee Scheduling & Time Tracking system setup

  • Meet deadlines and remain in constant communication with Staffing & Admin Operations Manager

WHAT THIS PERSON WILL BRING

  • 2 - 3 years in a similar HR or Payroll Coordinator role

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or comparable work experience

  • Familiarity with payroll software (CAPS), MS Office (especially Excel)

  • Current knowledge of payroll procedures and related laws

  • Excellent understanding of multi-location payroll and taxes

  • Meticulous attention to detail & organization

  • Enthusiasm for the live event and travel industry

  • Ability to get all tasks and assignments done promptly while managing your own workload and day-to-day schedule

  • Ability to maintain, control, and communicate deadlines, roadblocks, and escalations as needed

  • Ability to provide leadership, prioritize, organize, motivate, problem solve, delegate, follow up, and communicate
