Business Development Director, Clinical & Regulatory (Remote)

POSITION

Reports To: VP of Scientific Staffing

FLSA Status: Exempt

ROLE

SUMMARY

The Business Development Director, Clinical & Regulatory, will spearhead the growth and expansion of staffing solutions within the clinical research, biometrics, and regulatory sectors across the nation. This role is focused on driving new business development, fostering new and existing client relationships, and delivering high-quality staffing solutions tailored to the unique needs of the pharmaceutical, biotech, med device and diagnostic industries.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Duties include but are not limited to the following:

  • Strategic Growth & Market Expansion :

  • Develop and implement a strategic business development plan for clinical and regulatory staff augmentation and SOW services.

  • Drive revenue growth by targeting key clients, including clinical trial sponsors, CROs, and life science companies.

  • Client Relationship Management :

  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with decision-makers in the clinical and regulatory sectors.

  • Act as a trusted advisor to clients, profoundly understanding their staffing needs and aligning services to their specific project requirements.

  • Ensure client satisfaction through consistent, high-quality service delivery.

  • Sales Leadership :

  • Collaborate with peers to support the regional sales team, providing coaching, mentorship, and direction to achieve and surpass sales targets.

  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless execution of staffing contracts and project fulfillment.

  • Talent Aquisition Strategy :

  • Design, develop and oversee recruitment training and strategy to attract top-tier talent in Biometrics, Clinical Operations, Drug Safety, Medical Affairs, Regulatory Affairs, Statistical Programming, Clinical Programing, and Clinical Data Management.

  • Partner with internal recruitment teams to ensure the timely and effective delivery of qualified candidates to meet client needs.

  • Networking & Branding :

  • Represent the company at industry conferences, events, and networking opportunities to enhance the company’s visibility and reputation.

  • Promote the company’s expertise in clinical and regulatory staffing through thought leadership and professional engagements.

  • Market Intelligence :

  • Conduct market research to stay ahead of emerging trends in clinical research and regulatory staffing.

  • Stay current with regulatory requirements and industry trends impacting clinical trials and regulatory submissions.

  • Analyze competitive activity and adjust business development strategies to maintain a leading market position.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position will have no direct reports but will lead cross functionally in partnership with regional Managing Directors and Recruiting Managers.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education : Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Business, or a related field

  • Experience : 5+ years of experience in staffing business development, with at least 2 years focusing on clinical and regulatory

  • Knowledge : Strong understanding of the clinical research and regulatory affairs landscape, particularly staffing trends and needs.

  • Skills : Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills; track record of exceeding revenue targets.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This role is largely expected to work from home but travel to clients is essential to generate business.
