Vail Resorts Accounting Analyst - Homeowner Association & Managed Properties Services in Remote, United States

Job Summary:

The Homeowner Association (HOA) & Managed Properties (MP) Analyst will be an integral part of the accounting team responsible for maintaining accurate financial reporting for the Homeowner Associations & Hotel Properties managed by Vail Resorts. Responsibilities include journal entry preparation, balance sheet and bank account reconciliation, monthly financial statement reporting, and annual budget preparation. The homeowner accounting & managed properties team works closely with various internal and external stakeholders including property managers, lodging operations, and shared services accounting. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with strong attention to detail and ability to work in a dynamic and fast paced environment.

Job Specifications:

  • Outlet: Corporate

  • The budgeted range starts at $55,000 - $64,000. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience

  • Shift & Schedule Availability: Full Time, Year Round

  • Other Specifics: Remote

Job Responsibilities:

  • Journal entry preparation, and comprehensive review and approval of journals prepared by other team members

  • Balance sheet account reconciliations and analysis of monthly fluctuations

  • Perform billing processes for property management, homeowners, and general corporate business channels

  • Support HOA & MP stakeholders with financial analysis, which may include generation and analysis of income statements, budgets, balance sheets and statements of cash flows

  • Support HOA & MP month end close processes through the monthly six business day close cycle

  • Facilitate annual budget preparation process for portfolio of HOA’s

  • Train and support property managers on shared service processes and accounting software, as needed

  • Contribute to ongoing team process improvement goals, making recommendations and participating/leading initiatives

  • Attend HOA board meetings as needed (Virtual)

  • Ad hoc other duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

  • 2 + years accounting experience

  • Strong accounting/finance knowledge, communication skills, and problem-solving abilities

  • Proficient to intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel

  • Previous experience using property management or ERP software (IQWare, MEWS, Lightspeed, Opera & PeopleSoft) – preferred

The expected Total Compensation for this role is $55,000 - $64,000. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
