About the Role

The Field Sales Trainer (FST) role is a transitional, developmental role offered to current ITCI sales professionals whose long-term career interests may include a first line sales manager role and/or other field or home-office roles. This is a remote position but there is a strong preference so someone based in the West, South Central, or North Central region.

Job Responsibilities

Sales Training Department (45% of role):

  • Support the Managers, Sales Training with new hire training, including salesforce expansion and new hire training classes as/when necessary

  • Assist with specific Phase I training initiatives through new hire touchpoints

  • Mentor new NSSs through the Phase I training experience

  • Provide field perspective during Phase II training workshops

  • Facilitation of Phase II workshops

  • Assist with role play and certification exercises in Phase II classes

  • Maintain knowledge of and provide coaching to compliance guardrails during practice sessions

  • Inspire adoption of the ITCI Engagement models during practice sessions

  • Conduct field rides following Phase II to support implementation, provide appropriate message and compliance coaching, and collect insights that will aid Sales Training Department in improving new hire training program.

  • Assist Sales Training with POA, NSM, and other sales meetings

  • Contribute to concept and content development of training workshops

  • Serve as training department liaison to commercial team when/as necessary

  • Contribute to workshop deployment during meetings, Train-the-Trainer session.

  • Assist/lead training workshops and Train-the-Trainer sessions

  • Provide coverage, conduct regional workshops and activities for vacant regions

  • Conduct post-meeting field rides to support implementation, provide appropriate compliance coaching, and gather feedback to assist Sales Training in identifying NSS training needs/best practices Assist Sales Training with drug or indication launch initiatives

  • Assist Sales Training with drug or indication launch initiatives

  • Serve as training department liaison to commercial team when/as necessary

  • Reinforce product and disease state pre-launch modules

  • Contribute to workshop deployment during launch meetings, Train-the-Trainer sessions

  • Assist with and conduct certifications when/as necessary

  • Conduct post-launch field rides to support implementation, provide appropriate compliance coaching, and gather feedback to assist Sales Training in identifying NSS training needs/best practices

Area Field Sales Training Support (40% of role):

  • Conduct field rides

  • Regularly with sales professionals

  • To support implementation of training initiatives

  • To identify NSS training needs

  • As requested by ASD, RBMs

  • To support pull-through of training concepts, provide skills coaching

  • Execute Area focus initiatives as determined by ASDs and Sales Training

  • Assist ASD with operational and training coverage during RBM vacancies as able, appropriate, and/or necessary

  • Attend Area and Regional calls to provide Sales Training support and identify NSS training needs or best practices

  • Serve as Area product/disease state knowledge expert utilizing approved resources during localized training and field rides

Miscellaneous

  • Complete all company and job-related training as assigned within the required timelines.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree

  • One (1) year of tenure in current role at Intra-Cellular Therapies and must have received a performance rating of “Valued” or better to be considered.

  • Must have support from current first and second-line managers - completion of an internal application form is required.

  • Sales performance must be in the Top 50% (average over the last 8 quarters).

  • Must be able to travel 40% of working days or as required based on company needs.

  • Must demonstrate previous or current leadership ability within their respective team, advisory committee, or additional leadership abilities acknowledged by sales leadership.

  • Must be able to perform all essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
