Leidos Senior Cloud Security Architect in Remote, Virginia

Description

Leidos is a FORTUNE 500 company bringing a mix of innovative technology and sector expertise to customers in the national security, engineering, and the health industries. Leidos is seeking a mission-driven, goal-oriented Senior Cloud Security Architect to support a large, mission-critical 24/7/365 hybrid multi-tenant, multi-cloud enterprise infrastructure. The Cloud Security Architect will serve as the lead for architecting and overseeing the development of security practices, services, and solutions to ensure the security posture of the infrastructure is maintained and continually improved in accordance with current and emerging Department of Defense (DoD), customer, and Leidos policies. As part of these duties the Cloud Security Architect will ensure the environment meets and exceeds all regulatory requirements and meets all requirements for DoD certification and accreditation. The position may be asked to perform on client-site, at a Leidos site, or virtual.

The successful candidate should be a collaborative, analytical thinker with strong problem-solving and technical management skills to deliver the best solutions in support of the customers’ missions. The candidate must possess strong collaboration and communications skills with leadership experience to build solid relationships across internal and external team members.

Primary Responsibilities

The Senior Cloud Security Architect is responsible for collaborating with others, including Leidos customers, vendors, and team members to develop and maintain cloud strategies, and to lead / oversee the implementation efforts required to realize those strategies in a secure, cost effective, agile manner including but not limited to:

  • Architect, design, and implement cloud, hybrid cloud, and multi-cloud security tools required to operate cloud infrastructure and services

  • Provide oversight to ensure high levels of security and ease of certification / accreditation

  • Recommend short- and long-term infrastructure and service improvements to meet customer objectives

  • Ensure that the cloud infrastructure is scalable, reliable and secure

  • Evaluate automation, tools, and new technologies and services for incorporation into the environment

  • Collaborate and coordinate with external customers, management, subcontractors, vendors, and Cloud Service Providers

  • Identify and adopt best practices and standards

  • Ensure compliance with security and regulatory requirements

  • Ensure cyber controls align with standards such as DISA STIG and NIST SP 800-53

  • Support development and maintenance of CDRLs, documentation, processes, checklists, and procedures

  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to other architects and engineers

  • Contribute to proposal efforts for new work by evaluating technical content, providing Basis of Estimates (BOEs) and/or identifying appropriate personnel with the right skills

Basic Qualifications

  • Must be a U.S. citizen with a current DoD Secret clearance

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field

  • Subject matter expertise in at least two cloud platforms with focus on Impact Level (IL) 4/5 and 6 environments—Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), or Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI)

  • Expertise in DISA Secure Cloud Computing Architecture (SCCA), DISA Cloud Computing Security Requirements Guide (CC SRG), NIST SP 800-53, Risk Management Framework (RMF) and DISA STIG

  • Expertise in the implementation and execution of cloud native, SaaS, and self-hosted security platforms

  • Experience with identity and access management, encryption, and network security

  • At least one advanced cloud architect certification

  • Proven track record in leadership positions driving cloud adoption, deployment, and improvement

  • Minimum 12 years of experience in information technology roles

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in cloud security

  • Must meet requirements for DoD 8570 Compliance included holding a current CompTIA Security+ certification

  • Travel may be required to participate in customer, Leidos, or other forums

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a leadership role

  • Minimum 2 years of experience working in DoD or other Federal Government environments

  • Formalized systems engineering methods including but not limited to performing assessment of alternatives (AoA) and business case analysis (BCA)

  • Subject matter expertise in more than two cloud platforms with focus on Impact Level (IL) 4/5 and 6 environments—Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), or Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI)

  • More than one advanced cloud architect certification

  • Hold or ability to obtain Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification

Pay Range:

Pay Range $122,200.00 - $220,900.00
