SAIC Senior Azure Network Engineer in REMOTE WORK, Maryland

Description

SAIC is looking for a Senior Azure Network Engineer that will be responsible for managing the configuration, installation, and on-going support of a complex Azure based infrastructure. The candidate for this position should have extensive hands-on technical skills designing and deploying various network technologies. The candidate position will need to be adept at monitoring the ongoing operation of the network and identifying potential issues and corrective actions. Additionally, this candidate should have strong project management skills to ensure seamless and successful implementations.

Job Duties:

  • Serve as the technical subject matter expert and point of escalation for troubleshooting network and Azure infrastructure issues.

  • Deploy, configure, and maintain various Azure network devices and services such as Vnets, Subnets, firewalls, security groups, load balancers, route tables, Web Application Firewall, Application gateway, etc...

  • Serves as a subject matter expert for network strategy, design, implementations, and operation to ensure performance, reliability, and security of the Azure Network Infrastructure

  • Implement and maintain robust network security measures to protect against threats, vulnerabilities, and unauthorized access.

  • Design and enforce network security policies, access controls, and encryption mechanisms.

  • Provide strategic guidance and technical leadership throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring adherence to best practices and architectural principles.

  • Monitor performance and ensure system availability, reliability, and capacity planning.

  • Design, plan, and implement scalable, secure, and resilient network architectures to support current and future business needs.

  • Lead the implementation of network infrastructure projects, including switches, routers, firewalls, load balancers, and other networking devices. Ensure proper configuration, integration, and optimization of network components.

Qualifications

  • BS in computer science, networking engineering, information security, or related field

  • Combined 10+ years of experience in network management and Azure.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust requiring U.S. Citizenship

  • Strong knowledge of enterprise computing and operating systems (OS) and Microsoft Azure cloud computing platforms.

  • In-depth knowledge of Azure services, including but not limited to VMs, Virtual Networks, Azure Active Directory, Azure Storage, and Azure Security.

  • Hands-on experience with Azure migrations, Azure Security, Azure Active Directory, and disaster recovery.

  • Hands-on experience in Network Architecture in the areas of designing, implementing, and troubleshooting complex routing and switching environments.

  • Hands-on and strong technical expertise in implementing and troubleshooting network infrastructures at scale.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a strategic mindset and attention to detail.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.

  • Certifications:

  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Network Engineer

  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer

  • Additional Azure / cybersecurity / network certifications

  • Strong knowledge of DevSecOps and Zero Trust Architecture.

  • Familiarity with Linux (RHEL, SUSE) and Windows operating systems, security, and AD

  • Familiarity with other cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, etc)

Target salary range: $120,001 - $160,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
