JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Summary:

The CNC Machinist will be responsible for setting up and operating machines including but not limited to Haas CNC Mills and Lathes to produce precision parts out of metal. They may also make or repair machine tools or maintain industrial machines, applying knowledge of mechanics, mathematics, metal properties, layout, and machining procedures. CNC Machinist will be able to use a variety of measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers. They will adhere to all Bandit safety, quality, inventory and production guidelines, standards, policies, and procedures.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Setup existing programs and processes with minimum supervision.
• Ability to read and edit part programs to establish set up and mapping the machine out for production.
• Measure, examine, or test completed units to check for defects and ensure conformance to specifications.
• Set up, adjust, or operate basic or specialized machine tools used to perform precisions machining operations.
• Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools attachments, accessories, or materials onto machines.
• Read blueprints for specifications such as diameter, and other dimensions noted.
• Observe machine operating to ensure accurate cuts and catch any detects or malfunctions on steel.
• Ability to troubleshoot or problem solve any issues associated with machines.
• Ability to train and/or lead operators on machines.
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

• Five (5) years' experience (work experience or schooling) with CNC machines preferred.
• Knowledge of G&M coding required.
• Ability to edit and alter tool offsets.
• Ability to read and use a tape measure, basic shop math, and able to read a blueprint.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills
• Complete Bandit's crane and/or forklift safety training

Physical Requirements:

• Frequently stand, walk, push, pull, stoop, pinch, grasp, and/or bend Requires employee to work both inside/outside in heat/cold, and/or wet/humid conditions.
• Frequently required to use personal protective equipment (PPE) to prevent injury.
• Frequently lift 50 pounds
• Occasionally lift 60 pounds
