Generac Power Systems Senior Software Engineer-Backend in Reno, Nevada

Generac is seeking talented Senior Backend Engineers to join our dynamic team in developing world-class factory software. As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will play a crucial role in automating manufacturing processes for our critical product line in the clean energy segment. You will primarily focus on developing software for manufacturing test processes to ensure compliance and reliability standards are met.

This is a hybrid role located in Reno, NV.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Architect distributed software systems that allows machines to co-ordinate events with each other to drive the manufacturing process.

  • Be able to code and test your software on the manufacturing setups at our various sites.

  • Co-ordinate with manufacturing team to understand the requirements and translate them to tangible software problem.

  • Develop APIs backed by robust backend that can serve for various analytics requirements for the factory data.

  • Work close to machines to develop interaction protocol libraries.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Masters or Bachelors in Computer Science /Computer engineering .

  • 3+ years of experience to develop backend software.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • 3+ years of coding experience in C / C++ or Go .

  • Understanding of distributed system design.

  • Exposure to cloud technologies AWS/docker/data pipeline applications.

  • Experience with Databases for event driven systems.

Physical Demands : While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk. On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Specific conditions of this job are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting, close vision and ability to adjust focus. Occasional travel.
