Regeneron Pharmaceuticals Maintenance Technician (Clean Room), 1st shift Wednesday-Saturday in Rensselaer, New York

We are currently looking for a Maintenance Technician to join our General Maintenance group, supporting clean room activities. Our Maintenance Technicians assist with the start-up, troubleshooting, preventative maintenance and repair work for a variety of facilities systems, equipment and buildings.

This position works mainly in the clean room environment

As a Maintenance Technician, a typical day might include the following:

  • Performing daily work orders (WOs) and preventative maintenance (PMs), while efficiently coordinating the work completion and documentation of PMs and WOs.

  • Completing Work Requests for repairs on general building repairs and tasks.

  • Coordinating and supervising contracted maintenance including defining scope, obtaining bids or proposals, and initiating purchase requisitions to complete tasks.

  • Performing daily operations, maintenance and repairs on utility systems, manufacturing equipment and building systems in a cGMP environment with minimal supervision including, but not limited to:

  • Assisting Plant Utility Technicians with water and boiler operations and chemical treatment programs.

  • Assisting HVAC Technicians with Chiller plant & cooling tower operations and systems, and air compressor systems.

  • Assisting with repairs on pharmaceutical compressed gases and piping.

  • Assisting Clean Utility Technicians in Water Room operations.

  • Supporting all aspects of general maintenance including supporting cleanroom maintenance, pest control, and inspection readiness tasks.

  • May involve working off-shift to provide 24/7 coverage.

  • Have basic working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and overall general familiarity with computer systems

To be considered for the Maintenance Technician position you must be willing and able to work Wednesday-Saturday 6:00 a.m.- 4:30 p.m. Training will be Monday-Friday 6:00 a.m.- 4:30 p.m. for several weeks. Applicants should have AAS degree, preferably in an Engineering or Construction Technologies related field, and the following minimum amounts of relevant experience for each level:

  • Maintenance Technician I: 0 years or HSD/GED with 2+ years of related experience

  • Maintenance Technician II: 2+ years of related experience or HSD/GED with 5+ years of related experience

  • Maintenance Technician III: 5+ years of related experience or HSD/GED with 8+ years of related experience

Physical Requirements:

  • Some physical requirements can include but are not limited to: bending, climbing, crawling, kneeling, reaching, reaching overhead, sitting, squatting, walking, standing, driving, hand manipulation and ability to lift/push/pull up to 50lbs

Gowning and Environment:

  • Full cleanroom attire may include: laundered undergarments, gown, facemask, hairnet, safety glasses, safety shoes and booties, latex gloves and the use of sanitizing agents during gowning process

  • Must be able to remove jewelry, make-up and nail polish when wearing cleanroom attire

Prior experience in the maintenance and operation of large scale utilities plant preferred. Level will be determined based on qualifications relevant to the role.
