Role Overview: This role initially will be all about assisting a specific Apex aerospace client (operations: building commercial jetliners) on a full time basis with their ongoing management of environmental exposure-&-control issues. The incumbent will potentially be involved in a relatively wide variety of activities related to this fundamental goal but primarily will be focused on industrial- and construction-related stormwater support. The role will involve reporting to the client site daily, engaged in a blend of (1) workplace shop floor and flightline environmental compliance tasks and inspections, and (2) environmental policy-&-procedure implementation effectiveness evaluations and continuous improvement support. Physical Job Demands: The shop floor, flightline and site wide aspects of this role will routinely require a great deal of walking. This customer's site is large and sprawling; and may require walking a quarter or half mile to reach a specific interior or exterior location where the incumbent conducts work. Your Responsibilities as an Apex Environmental Professional: Working under the direction of a Senior Environmental Project Manager, engaging in activities for the specific Apex aerospace client noted above on topics such as the following: Perform inspections of specific 'Apron' areas adjacent to the flightline 2-3 times per week and identify issues for Operations to address Assist the Senior Project Manager with the following stormwater program efforts: Execution of stormwater sampling events (pH, turbidity, metals, other), including preparation & calibration of tools Data management / database entry of stormwater samples Corrective action field investigations (in support of sampling) Exposure data collection associated with efforts to evaluate 'Management of Change' (MOC) requests for stormwater issues once or twice per week Review and updating of the site's Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) Spill kit inspection & validation - ensure kits are adequately stocked Data collection in support of the site's new 5-Year Industrial Stormwater General Permit which goes into effect Jan. 1, 2025. Cross-referencing of stormwater catch basins on area maps The site's Tanks & Sumps compliance program Provides as-needed support on additional environmental programs and technical topic areas, such as: Air quality Wastewater Hazardous waste Permitting The site's ISO 14001-based Environmental Management System What we are looking for: Requirements: Candidates must be a 'U.S. Person' as defined by 22 CFR 120.15.
