Position Purpose

The Sales Manager leads, guides, oversees, develops and executes the sales strategy for the LONG Security Solutions Sales business unit.This position is responsible for ensuring profitability for the Security Sales business unit, contributing to the overall success of the company.The Sales Managers will bring creativity and innovation to LONG as an integral part of moving the company forward and competing in the marketplace.You will be responsible for ensuring the continued success.

Pay Range: $100,000 - $140,000 plus potential Manager Profit Share

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Proactively manage costs to ensure the profitability of the business unit and the company. Oversee all business unit activities to guarantee both profitability and timely execution.

Actively contributes to the success of the business unit by supporting sales efforts, shaping bid strategies, defining the overall vision, and ensuring effective execution.

Create operating and capital budgets for the business unit by the established deadline, and hold direct reports accountable for meeting objectives, budgets, and deadlines.

Develop and track metrics for measuring salespeople, manufacturers, customers, adherence to LONG core values and effectiveness / market share in the Washington marketplace.

Work to ensure that LONG is fairly compensated for all work including that performed outside contractual obligations.

Partner with LONG support functions (accounting, human resources, IT, etc.) to ensure smooth and profitable execution of business plan and operational objectives.

Coordinate employee activities, programs and management initiatives with executive management and other business unit managers.

Conduct ongoing forecasting for personnel, equipment, tools and materials.

Recruit, develop, and motivate efficient, productive, and enthusiastic personnel through training, support, and leadership. Effectively utilize performance management processes and proceed with disciplinary action/termination as appropriate.

Continuously strive to improve LONG processes, quality, employees, and oneself.

Meet and consult with customers and employees often. Ensure internal and external customer expectations are met or exceeded.

Visit jobsites and interact with customers and LONG personnel in the field as appropriate.

Maintain and improve factory relations, factory performance goals and factory trips.

Monitor the industry, competitors, manufacturers, and customers to create and coordinate strategic direction for the business unit and LONG Building Technologies.

Maintain a high level of technical competencies and awareness relevant to all business unit activities.

Remain current and continually increase knowledge on industry and company trends, competitors, regulations, laws and technology.
