ICF 2025 Summer Intern, Financial Analyst (Bachelors, Remote) in Reston, Virginia

As a Financial Analyst Intern, you will support our utility programs and services division, working closely with ICF’s implementation team, to bring energy efficiency and bill savings to all customers, including under-served communities, across North America.

The Financial Analyst-Summer Intern will gain exposure to various types of energy efficiency projects and financial models while providing financial support, track portfolio budgets, track monthly invoices, monitor subcontractor spend, and assist in building client-based financial forecasts and analyses. This position will provide an opportunity for you to apply your academic knowledge, gain exposure to major projects, and build content knowledge and consulting skills.

This is a 10 week , full-time internship that begins in early June 2025. The work may be completed remotely from any U.S. location. At this time, we are unable to provide relocation nor housing assistance.

W hat you will be doing

  • Monitor the financial performance of contracts – run rate, profitability analysis, and budget variances; extensive use of Microsoft Excel plus a variety of other software tools, and prepare reports for senior management

  • Assist in the preparation and review of monthly forecasts for large energy efficiencyprojects across North America

  • Meet with Regional Finance Managers, Operations Leads, and othersenior leaders as needed to review and discuss program financial performance, forecasts, and variances

  • Assist with timely invoicing; coordinate, track, and monitor invoicing process monthly; assist in producing invoice required supporting documentation when needed

W hat we need you to have

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or related field with an anticipated graduation of August 2025 or later.

What would be useful

  • 1+ years of energy efficiency related experience or general intern experience

  • Strength in data analytics, including Excel formulas and functions or similar spreadsheet software

  • 1+ years of Microsoft Office Applications (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel)

Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position.

The pay range for this position based on full-time employment is:

$32,591.00 - $55,405.00
