Google Customer Engineer, National Security, Public Sector, Google Cloud in Reston, Virginia

This position requires that the applicant selected be eligible to obtain, and/or currently possess and maintain an active TS/SCI with Polygraph. The position further requires the applicant to obtain a commensurate clearance for each government agency for which they perform GPS work. Failure to maintain (or obtain, if applicable) the appropriate U.S. Government clearance and/or customer screening requirements that results in the employee unable to perform the requirements of the role, may result in employment action up to and including termination.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

  • 4 years of experience with virtualization or cloud native architectures in a customer-facing or support role.

  • Experience delivering technical presentations.

  • Active US Government Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmentalized Information (TS/SCI) security clearance with Polygraph.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience working with Public Sector clients and stakeholders, particularly in Federal agencies.

  • Experience with Linux, software-defined networking, network virtualization, open protocols, application acceleration and load balancing, DNS, and virtual private networks/application to PaaS and IaaS technologies.

  • Experience with containers and associated technologies including Docker, Kubernetes, Istio, Serverless, and Microservices.

  • Ability to learn, understand, and work with emerging technologies, methodologies, and solutions in the Google Cloud/IT technology space.

You listen and deliver what is most helpful for the customer. You assist fellow sales Googlers by problem-solving key technical issues for our customers. You liaise with the product marketing management and engineering teams to stay on top of industry trends and devise enhancements to Google Cloud products.

In this role, you will work with Technical Sales teams to differentiate and communicate the growth of Google Cloud to our clients. You will help prospective customers and partners understand the power of Google Cloud explaining technical features, helping customers design architectures, engaging in proof-of-concepts, and troubleshooting potential roadblocks. You will also travel to customer sites, conferences, and other events as needed.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $99,000-$145,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.   • Build partner specific, go-to-market solutions to reduce business cycles and drive partner business as measured through pipeline and business growth.

  • Own the technical relationship with partners, empowering them to drive a successful pilot or proof of concept, support partners drive toward customer acceptance of the technical proposal, leading to an agreement, and work with partners during the migration phase to assure they have all the tools necessary to deliver a successful deployment.

  • Build trusted advisory relationships and make recommendations on integration strategies, enterprise architectures, platforms, and application infrastructure required to successfully implement a complete solution providing best practice advice to customers to optimize Google Cloud effectiveness.

  • Lead technical projects, technology advocacy, support bid responses, product and solution briefings, proof-of-concept work, and the coordination of supporting technical resources.
