Position: Failure Analysis Technician

Location: Richardson, TX

Compensation: $25/hr

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7 AM to 4 PM

Employment Type: Temporary to Permanent

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Failure Analysis Technician to join our team in Richardson, TX. The successful candidate will perform complex technical support tasks, including troubleshooting and analysis of printed circuit boards, subassemblies, and production equipment. This role requires significant judgment and initiative to resolve problems and make impactful decisions. The technician will work with minimal supervision and may guide others in similar roles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support for printed circuit boards, subassemblies, and production equipment.

  • Set up and perform complex tests, procedures, experiments, and simulations.

  • Read and analyze schematic diagrams, circuit descriptions, and technical documentation.

  • Operate and adjust test sets and auxiliary equipment.

  • Assist in designing and debugging test fixtures, test cables, and other test equipment.

  • Design and lay out circuitry for test fixtures for bench testing and automated test equipment.

  • Update test bed software and ensure compliance with quality standards.

Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies:

  • Solid foundation in engineering principles.

  • Strong knowledge of electrical, electromechanical, and pneumatic systems.

  • Expertise in the setup, operation, and maintenance of manufacturing equipment.

  • Proficiency in mechanical assembly, fabrication procedures, and electronic circuitry.

  • Ability to read and interpret product specifications, schematics, and mechanical drawings.

  • Familiarity with computer programming (e.g., C++, ECAD, MCAD).

  • Ability to use hand and power tools for test assembly.

  • Proficient in mechanical measurement, calibration, and test equipment.

  • Experience in analyzing and troubleshooting equipment and systems.

  • Knowledge of digital electronics and repair methodologies.

  • Competent in using personal computers and Windows applications.

  • Excellent communication skills for interacting with internal customers.

Physical Demands:

  • Work performed in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, chemicals, machinery, temperature extremes, and hazardous substances.

  • Requires sustained visual concentration on detailed documentation and product assemblies.

  • Periodic physical effort, including lifting objects over 20 pounds and using tools and equipment.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: 2-4 years of relevant experience.

  • Education: Two or three-year community college diploma in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Pay Details: $25.00 per hour
