This is a job for an Asphalt Steel Wheel Roller Operator with a company located in the Richland, MS area.

Responsibilities: The selected candidate will be required to work in a team environment with other co-workers and managers. Must understand the operating procedures of the machine. Must have the skills to inspect the machine and notify appropriate personnel if there is an issue with the machine. Must be able to operate the machine safely and abide by all company policies and procedures. Must put safety as the number one priority and watch out for the safety of everyone around the machine. Must keep equipment clean, lubricated, and in good working order, including good housekeeping. Operate roller to maintain proper impact spacing to meet smoothness requirements. Operate the roller in concert selecting the static or vibratory mode with a corresponding amplitude and frequency (VPM) setting appropriate for the mix type and depth. Properly follow all company policies and OSHA / MSHA regulations for safe working procedures and environment. Perform general labor duties when necessary. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: Must have experience running a steel wheel roller on highway construction projects. Must have a knowledge of rolling patterns. Must have a knowledge of DOT density requirements and what it takes to accomplish those requirements. Pass pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check. Pass a pre-employment "Fit for Work" physical. Able to provide valid documentation for the I-9 Immigration document. Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors and the public always. Willing to travel and work away from home when required. Willing to work nights and weekends when necessary. Report to work at the designated start time. Able to work overtime when required. Willing to work outdoors in extreme temperatures, both hot and cold. Strictly adhering to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook. Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co--workers or supervisors with other duties as required. Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated operations and production areas as stated by OSHA and/or MSHA. At least age 18 years of age due to nature of working environment. CDL preferred but not required
