Responsibilities As a vital member of our engineering team, your day will be filled with meaningful challenges and impactful work. You might start by diving into detailed analysis and design of critical structures and components-think reactor buildings, containment structures, or piping systems. Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, you'll ensure designs meet rigorous safety and regulatory requirements, such as seismic and environmental standards. Later, you could evaluate proposed plant modifications, ensuring that every change upholds safety and compliance. Your afternoon might involve preparing in-depth technical reports, design calculations, and specifications, all while effectively communicating findings to key stakeholders. Every task you tackle contributes directly to the safety, reliability, and innovation of our nuclear facilities. You will also need to: Collaborate Across Disciplines: Work seamlessly with professionals from various engineering fields, ensuring smooth coordination and integration of designs Lead Design Initiatives: Develop innovative design studies, craft comprehensive project scopes, and produce accurate engineering estimates Drive Procurement Excellence: Create detailed specifications for electrical equipment procurement and installation, evaluate technical bids, and select the best equipment for the job Perform Critical Calculations: Conduct precise electrical calculations to meet project requirements and design inputs Innovate Solutions: Tackle complex technical challenges with fresh ideas and creative problem-solving strategies Engage in Field Operations: Embrace opportunities to travel, participate in site walkdowns, oversee field installations, and support system start-ups Inspire Teams: Lead by example, motivating teams to achieve ambitious goals with a positive, results-driven attitude and effective leadership Qualifications This posting covers a range of internal levels. Minimum qualifications for our mid-level position are shown below: Bachelor's Degree in civil structural engineering from an accredited university Minimum 3 years of experience with design of electrical systems including Good writing, presentation and communication skills Ability to be an individual contributor and work effectively in teams Proficient in Word and Excel -Senior Engineers typically have at least 7 years of post-graduate work experience in a related role -Senior Principal Engineers typically have at least 10
