Benton Franklin Head Start ECEAP Support Teacher in Richland, Washington

Job Title: ECEAPSupport Teacher

Position is full-time, 40 hours per week. 

Description: Responsible for providing support to the ECEAP Lead Teacher and assisting the Site Supervisor.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Supports the Lead Teacher in providing quality educational and family services to children and their families.
  • Helps provide developmentally appropriate environments for children.
  • Ensures supervision of children at all times.
  • Supports the Lead Teacher with the caseload of families.
  • Assists with parent education and support program for all assigned families.
  • Demonstrate high-quality language models in all their languages and strongly support continued home language development.
  • Promotes parent involvement.
  • Provides site office, clerical, and staffing support.
  • Completes and maintains all required records, child/family files, reports, and Agency paperwork, timely and accurately.
  • Responsible for maximizing and documentation of in-kind contributions.
  • Participates in professional development and opportunities for growth.
  • Demonstrates on-going professionalism.
  • Recruit for enrollment.
  • Assists Site Supervisor as needed.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

The Equivalent of 12 college quarter credits in early childhood education;

Initial or higher Washington State Early Childhood Education Certificate; or 

A Child Development Associate (CDA) awarded by the Council for Early Childhood Professional Recognition or;

Enrolled in a program to complete a CDA or equivalent coursework within 2 years of hire and;

Experience in a preschool classroom 

Meet the STARS requirement and be listed in the State training and registry system

Ability to read, write, and understand English essential.
