Location: Richland, Washington Title: Network Operations Center System Administrator II Schedule (FT/PT): Regular Full Time Travel Required: No Clearance: Ability to Obtain North Wind Solutions is a Government contracting small business with operations at military and civilian installations across the United States. The company's focus is facilities operation and maintenance, waste management and radiological services, security control and force protection, and environmental services. POSITION PURPOSE: In support of the Northwind IT Infrastructure organization, this position will be responsible for monitoring the Hanford Accreditation Boundary General Support System referred to as the Hanford Local Area Network (HLAN) Information System. Services include but are not limited to core network infrastructure (i.e., routers, switches, firewalls, etc.), authentication services, servers, storage, Internet, Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI), and other HLAN resources, infrastructure, and facilities for faults, service interruptions, and performance degradation. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Analysis of applications and systems that have been designated as critical Essential Support activities necessary to maintaining the Hanford Mission Essential Function - "Maintain the safeguards and security of special nuclear/radiological materials (material, weapons and devices) at DOE sites and facilities". Critical evaluation and configuration management of commercial, alternative, and Uninterrupted Power Supply (UPS) alerts using Network Management applications. Including, but not limited to environmental monitoring of Data Centers, telecom nodes and other critical infrastructure. Infrastructure analysis and proactive management of network, platforms, and critical application services for availability. Maintain responsibility to obtain, track, communicate, and post accurate Network incidents and outage information at point of detection or notification from system owner and posting updates as new information becomes available. Responsible for administering, triaging, and coordinating Network and Server incidents with technical Subject Matter Experts (SME) and Senior Management team. Support and/or authorize Disaster Recovery/Continuity of Operations (DR/COOP) exercises, testing, and live incidents per policies and procedures. Support technical teams in identifying systems problems, conducting diagnosis and providing resolution. Production Control job batch processing support, initiate analysis for job failures and coordinate efforts to resolve issues. Respond to scheduled and unscheduled production-impacting incidents and dispatch the appropriate technical, engineering, and safety resources and after-hours emergency customer support. Update network tools as needed to monitor new applications, servers, network hardware, or to retire applications, servers, and network hardware no longer in service. Provide cybersecurity incident handling support. Compile or write network event reports for Senior Leadership. ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide after-hour Helpdesk support, including troubleshooting and tracking of resolutions. Audit and update Network Operations Center procedures. Engage in the automation and modernization of NOC processes and applications. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, equivalent years of work experience or combination of education and relative work experience.
