Estes Express Lines Director, Canada Business Development in Richmond, Virginia

Job Summary:

  • Lead, guide and direct Canada service level agreement in partnership with Contractors to maximize sales account manager contractors performance for the success of Estes business growth

  • Responsible for evaluating, and providing guidance on our sales contracts to maximize sales effectiveness and productivity. Work with contractors to ensure reporting is timely and accurate to establish trends and areas of improvement for targeted growth

  • Work with field and corporate account U.S. Estes sales team members as a Canadian subject matter expert (SME)

  • Develop and deliver sales strategies related to (Canada). Implement, analyze and monitor to ensure revenue, expenses, profits, budgets and internal/external obligations with Estes’ Canadian sales contractors are met

  • Develop and implement processes and procedures relating to aggressive business grow intra Canada and Canada trans-border LTL shipment activity

  • Accountable for meeting aggressive targets for revenue growth and profit attainment with specific U.S. Estes sales professionals

  • Provide research, analyses, reporting and solution implementations for continuous improvements and share with key stakeholders as appropriate

  • Resolve issues escalated internally and externally with Estes business partners to ensure timely resolution and maintenance and enhancement of positive working relationships

  • Provide guidance to the corporate communications department relating to internal and external marketing material for publication

  • Regular attendance is required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background

  • 5 to 7 years leadership experience required

  • A minimum of 5 years actively working with U.S. and Canadian customers, Border Protection and related trade partners.

  • Knowledge of Department of Transportation, safety regulations and Transportation Security Administration required

  • Minimum of 3 years LTL experience preferred

  • Strong influencing skills at senior levels to influence acceptance of new solutions or a new way of working

  • Experienced and proficient in Microsoft office and familiarity and knowledge of AS400 LTL

  • Must be self- directed with strong analytical, problem solving, cost analysis and strong written and oral communication skills

  • Must possess a strong work ethic with flexibility in work schedule

  • Must be able to lift approximately 20 lbs., or more if required by the essential functions of the job

  • Must be able to comply with all company policies, rules, procedures and Code of Conduct

  • Must be able to interact well with others

  • Must be able to work independently, or in a team setting

  • Must be capable of working under tight time constraints in a high volume environment with multiple priorities

  • Responds well to questions; Ability to read, interpret and comply with written information and documents such as safety rules, operations / procedure manuals and maintenance instructions with a high comprehension and concentration level to include the ability to meet deadlines

  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen, random drug and/or alcohol tests, and will be subject to a criminal history background check

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
