Red River Inside Sales Account Manager I in Richmond, Virginia

The Inside Sales Account Manager 1 (ISAM-1) is aligned with an Account Team with high revenue and margin expectations. The ISAM-1 coordinates with team members on all team activities. ISAM-1’s will focus on business system proficiency, learning the fundamental activities and workflows required to move opportunities through our sales cycle, introductions to internal and external resources, and learning about the IT industry, the specific market they support and the customers in that market. As the ISAM-1 progresses, they may be a point of contact for the customer on some opportunities. At the Team Lead’s discretion, the ISAM-1 may be responsible for managing communication with the customer, Red River internal and external resources. ISAM-1s may be teamed with an ISAM 2 or ISAM-3 to cover multiple Account Teams or a top producing individual team.

Primary Position Tasks

  • Manage and maintain customer activity in RADAR (CRM application)

  • Proactively engaged in all available IT sales training forums and actively pursuing internal and external opportunities to gain experience in the industry.

  • Supports a dedicated customer account list aligned with an Account Team.

  • Trained in the use of all required Red River business applications

  • Trained in all Contract and Compliance protocols

  • Trained in the application of Red River sales procedures and protocols such as how to read a RFQ, identify the end user and communicate with the corresponding Account Team and internal resources.

  • Trained in the protocols established for communication with Red River resources such as the Pre-Sales Engineering team, Support Services team, Managed Services team, Capture team, Supply Chain and Professional Services team.

  • Trained in the use of customer, Partner, and OEM resources.

  • Sufficient phone skills, using learned active listening skills, use of open and closed questions, courteous and conscientious communication, and technically literate language.

  • Sufficient writing skills, demonstrated by the correct use of grammar, professional communication style and technically literate language to support successful e-mail introductions to customers, vendors, and OEM counterparts.

  • The ability to present (ppt. or other similar presentation format) Red River’s capabilities.

  • The ability to effectively present Red River’s core capabilities via phone or e-mail communication.

  • The ability to work effectively with or without dedicated management supervision.

  • Quote activity will primarily originate from Red River RFQs and as directed by Account Executive.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities required for ISAM-1

  • 1-3 years of experience in the IT industry, or comparable professional environment

  • Entry level certifications in OEM training programs.

  • With training, must be able to manage the entire quote process originating from a customer or RFQ.

  • Ability to work independently and to make informed decisions without direct supervision.

  • With training, the ability to interpret information from various sources to make strategic decisions regarding product sourcing, product configurations and basic competitive pricing analysis.

  • Professional written and verbal communication skills

  • A commitment to developing advanced organizational skills

  • Ability to multi-task and maintain accuracy under a heavy workload

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to work well on a team

  • Commitment to on-going learning

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and the ability to use collaboration tools, such as Microsoft Teams and Red River’s CRM Application

Essential Elements:

This position is an office position that requires remaining in a stationary position for multiple hours throughout the workday.

This position requires the ability to continuously communicate with co-workers throughout the day utilizing Red River approved and/or provided communication tools and equipment.
