Principal Service Solutions is hiring an experienced Sales Manager with experience in various Electron Microscope (EM) markets/Analytical Equipment markets.
The position is located on the Eastern Seaboard (MD, DE, or VA). We are looking for an experienced Sales Manager who has worked in the analytical equipment markets selling to Academia, Hospitals, Laboratories, etc.
This is a Direct Hire position with a major semiconductor capital equipment OEM.
Position Location: Eastern Seaboard (MD, DE, or VA)
Salary: $95 to $110K + commission: 60 to 90K depending on performance.
Job Description:
Sales of the entire product line into industrial, academic, and governmental channels with the responsibility to attain assigned sales quotas
Maintain regular customer contact to communicate and update new and existing customers concerning new products, trade shows, and other events related to business
Initiate, develop, and maintain relationships with technical/scientific customers/prospects including electrical, chemical, mechanical, and materials technicians, engineers, biological and medical scientists, and PhDs.
Forecasting of business opportunities on a weekly, monthly, quarterly & bi-annual basis, or as requested by sales management
Participation and/or preparation in sales meetings
Manage territory sales calls, demonstrations, road shows, forecast meetings, and service meetings, along with managing customer and internal teleconferences where required
Maintain sales database and provide accurate and reasonable equipment forecasting
Communicate any technical input and/or comments from the customer base to the appropriate Product/Marketing department(s) for future product improvements/requirements, as well as customer-required design changes in existing products
Design territory coverage to maximize sales opportunities in a cost-effective manner
Communicate effectively with the Product Marketing department to ensure the dissemination of technical information internally and to the customer base
Develop and maintain OEM relationships
Attend and participate in trade shows, seminars, workshops, etc.
Maintain a working relationship between sales and other company departments (i.e. Public Relations, Service, Product, and Sales Administration)
Contact, Support, and Sales Management of current customers
Provide strategic planning for targeted markets and large accounts
Monitor service/support for customers to ensure customer satisfaction
Participate in ongoing technical training for product set
Develop innovative strategies to penetrate high-level accounts with the ability to communicate on all levels throughout a corporation (i.e.: Lab, Executive offices, Purchasing)
Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:
The position requires three (3) to five (5) years of experience in a scientific-related industry with technical sales, scientific capital equipment sales, and excellent sales negotiation skills or comparable experience
Must have prior experience in a related industry with EM experience and Sales Negotiation
Ability to frequently travel when required (Domestic and/or International Travel) - Up to 80%
Knowledge of instrumentation for optical inspection, metrology, imaging, electron microscopy, surface/elemental analysis, or sample preparation
A second language is a plus
Computer Skills Training where required
Experience with Customer Relationship Management software like SalesForce.com or similar
Proven experience in the management of large capital equipment accounts
Capable of conducting technical sales presentations and answering technical questions from customers and prospective customers
A self-motivator able to work without direct supervision
Experience with software programs to include, but not limited to, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Poses proper and effective verbal and written communication skills
Ability to speak in front of large groups
Maintain a valid driver's license
Educational Requirements:
Bachelor of Arts (BA) / Bachelor of Science (BS) in science, business, or experience equivalent is a must
A secondary technical or business degree is a plus
