About The Role:

Capital One is looking for a strategic, results-driven communications professional to join a talented group of integrated communicators on our Corporate Communications team.

On the Corporate Communications team, you will be responsible for working with key executives and their leadership teams to understand areas of need and build sustainable communications strategies designed to share the vision of the organization as well as engage, empower and inspire associates. With a focus on executive and internal communications, you will be a part of a talented team who brings the organizational strategy to life for our associates. We are looking for a confident communications leader who is obsessed with inspiring change through innovative experiences, content, and storytelling.

This position requires exceptional written, verbal and presentation skills; experience consulting executives; the ability to lead projects and work with multiple stakeholders or partners to meet objectives; and a proven track record of building trusted relationships and influencing key stakeholders to achieve the best results with associates, customers and the business in mind.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Build and execute strategic plans for executive-level leader communications for internal and external audiences

  • Lead with the customer and translate needs into thoughtful strategies

  • Write, proofread, and edit communications needed to support strategic plans

  • Effectively leverage a suite of communication channels while innovating on new channel opportunities

  • Work effectively in cross-functional teams to advance the team and leadership’s communication strategy and implement a range of creative solutions to reach key target audiences

Ideal Candidate Should Have :

  • Experience developing and executing successful communications strategies including executive-level leader communications support

  • Exceptionally strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to present complex subject matter in a clear, concise, and compelling manner

  • Expertise in relationship building with proven ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholders, including peers, executive leaders, and senior management

  • Ability to flip back and forth from strategy to tactics quickly

  • Self-motivated with strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize

  • Ability to work as part of a team, in an open and collaborative environment

  • Creative, integrative problem-solving and structured thinking

  • Strong project management skills and ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously

  • Ability to use data to optimize and enhance channel and messaging

  • Easily adapts to change and takes on a growth mindset approach

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or military experience

  • At least 5 years of experience of executive communications

  • At least 6 years of experience in planning, execution, and analysis of communication or marketing programs

  • At least 7 years of experience in corporate communications, internal business communications, leading organizational change and communication projects, or any combination of these experiences

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least 1 year of experience in financial services, technology or other highly regulated industry

  • At least 1 year of project management experience
