Nuvance Health MRI Technologist in Ridgefield, Connecticut

Full Time MRI Tech - DAY SHIFT 8 hour shift between 7:30am-6pm

Summary:

Performs MRI procedures to help physicians in the care of their patients. This supports the hospital's objective of quality patient care and patient-centered awareness.

Responsibilities:

  1. Provides optimum patient care.

  2. Demonstrates knowledge and technical expertise to safely & correctly operate MRI equipment.

  3. Performs and records # for daily QA.

  4. Develops skills to practice in a safe, clinical environment.

  5. Develops skills in Contrast Administration.

  6. Demonstrates self direction and utilizes problem solving techniques.

  7. Knows the role of a MRI technologist as a member of the healthcare team and functions as a competent & compassionate MRI technologists.

  8. Cross trained in another modality (X-Ray and Bone Density).

  9. Maintains technical competency in the following less frequent order procedure (2 or more years experience).

  10. Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position.

  11. Performs other duties as assigned.

Education: HS GRAD/EQUIVALENT

Required:

Minimum Experience: one year

Two years experience maintaining technical competency in order procedures.

Desired: 3 years experience in MRI.

Working Conditions:

Manual: significant manual skills/motor coord & finger dexterity

Occupational: Significant occupational risk

Physical Effort: Very Heavy effort. May exert up to 50 lbs. force

Physical Environment: Some exposure to dirt, odors, noise, human waste, etc.
