Franklin Pierce University Vice President of University Advancement (VPUA) in Rindge, New Hampshire

Located in Rindge, NH, Franklin Pierce University (FPU) is close to major cities like Boston and New York City yet provides the natural beauty and safety of a rural campus, with easy access to outdoors activities, the arts, excellent educational options for families, and much more. FPU seeks an ambitious fundraiser to serve as the next Vice President for University Advancement (VPUA) and lead the Office of University Advancement. The VPUA is the chief fundraising officer, works closely with the President and others on all fundraising efforts, and is expected to directly inspire and manage Advancement staff to identify, cultivate, solicit, recognize, and steward donors. The VPUA is also expected to work with others to improve connections with and engagement of FPU alumni, refine and improve all Advancement-driven programs, systems, and tactics, and to champion a stronger fundraising culture and program at the University. The VPUA will therefore have a unique opportunity to bring strategic, energizing leadership and bold thinking to University Advancement which will enhance philanthropy throughout the FPU community.

Experience and success in advancement/fundraising administration and in advancement program development are essential, as are organizational, professional, and interpersonal skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills, and a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail are essential. Serving as a member of the President’s Cabinet, the VPUA must possess the interpersonal, organizational, planning, and other core competency skills expected of a senior fundraising expert.

The successful candidate must have a bachelor’s degree (graduate degree is desirable), and a record of successful fundraising leadership and management in higher education or a related field commensurate with the requirements and expectations for this role. With a current, planned presidential transition this summer, the VPUA will join the FPU family at a time of genuine excitement, positive change, and entrepreneurial focus.

Relocation reimbursement is available, and while this is an on-campus position, a flexible work schedule is possible. FPU offers competitive wages and benefits packages, including medical,
