Scope of Job

The UTRGV School of Medicine is seeking Board Certified or Board Eligible physicians in General Dermatology and or sub-specialty area of Mohs Surgery and Dermatopathology. In addition, they will participate in scholarly activity, faculty development, patient safety and quality improvement initiatives, prepare and provide didactics, participate in the evaluation of the residents and medical students, and develop programs and preparation for CLER and RRC site visits. While previous experience in a residency program teaching role is preferred, individuals just finishing residency/fellowship training are highly encouraged to apply.

Minimum Qualifications

MD, DO or equivalent from an accredited institution and able to be licensed in the State of Texas. If applicable, have completed sub-specialty specific training.

Discipline Specific Required Qualifications

Completion of a Dermatology residency program from an ACGME -accredited programs as well as Certification by the American Board of Dermatology.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in educating residents in a GME Program and medical students in an accredited Medical School.

UTRGV is a distributed institution. As such and as assigned, the position may

require presence at multiple locations throughout the Rio Grande Valley. Work is

performed primarily in a general office environment. This position is security sensitive

and thereby subject to the provisions of the Texas Education Code

ยง51.215. The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of

Texas ( TRS ), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least

135 days in length. This position has the option to elect the Optional Retirement

Program ( ORP ) instead of TRS , subject to the position being 40 hours per week

and at least 135 days in length.
