Position Summary

The Central Coordinator serves as first point of contact for receiving and coordinating all general queries that come to the College of Arts and Sciences ( CAS ). This includes greeting and assisting visitors, apprising students of faculty/staff availability to schedule meetings, and providing logistical support (scheduling, room reservations, A/V setup, notifications, and reminders) for CAS unit leaders and committees to support daily operations. This position also serves as eSIS specialist and maintains records of committee memberships, meeting documents, and important deadlines for the College.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with unit leaders and the dean’s office to ensure orderly communication and reception protocols for guiding and assisting all general traffic and queries within the College

  • Maintain a full-time presence in the CAS dean’s suite, serving as principal receiver/greeter for all general email/phone queries and visitors

  • Provide limited guidance to students and visitors to connect them with appropriate employees, programs, resources, or other needs

  • Apprise students and visitors of faculty/staff and administrator availability (office hours, location, etc.)

  • Assist in scheduling meetings for unit leaders and committees

  • Serve as eSIS specialist and liaise with the registrar on various student records-related matters (permissions, suspension notifications, withdrawals, drops for non-attendance, major/advisor changes, course schedules, etc.)

  • Assist the Process Coordinator in developing training and technical documentation to enhance understanding of tools, policies, and processes CAS employees are expected to know

  • Supervise student workers as needed

  • Manage and approve schedule for CAS conference room ( KFA 140) in Outlook

  • Moderate and approve messages submitted for distribution to the CAS college-wide list-serve

  • Serve as one of the College’s payroll coordinators to support processing of new hires

  • Disseminate general notifications and reminders to various stakeholders of the College, as needed

    Knowledge Skills and Abilities

Required:

  • Associate’s degree or experience working in an office or professional setting

  • outstanding organizational and time management skills

  • excellent customer service and interpersonal skills

  • excellent writing skills and attention to detail

  • proficiency with Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat

  • ability to learn and use a variety of technologies effectively

Preferred:

  • experience with eSIS and EAB Navigate

  • experience working in an educational environment

  • Associate’s degree or higher
