Robert Half is in search of a Field Technician for a higher education institution located in the Inland Empire. The ideal candidate for this Field Technician role would be someone who is agile and able to pivot to different tasks. This Field Technician role has lots of growth opportunities for candidate & ability to learn new systems. Field Technician Responsibilities:

• Triage Network Tickets working with other Network Engineers.

• Responded to patch requests for dorm rooms, wall plates to access switch

• Physical Phone Systems, Security Cameras, Printers

• Troubleshoot Fiber Wireless

• Wiring closet work

• Replacing Switches Replacing Switches at site (ensure proper IDF, rack/stack), Tech Refresh, Connecting Patches

• Cleaning-up Fiber

• UPS Management, replacing batteries, installing UPS’

• Running Wireless Surveys

• Work w/ team to prep and execute projects

• Networking from Core to IDF access point firewalls

• SolarWinds (Monitoring), Cisco Prime (UPS, Monitoring) – nice to have skillsets

• Wireless Support

• Provide networking services for interconnected campuses (all in 1-square mile)

• Limited Firewall work (maybe some rack/stack or basic monitoring)

• NOT managing computers or printers; JUST Networking (Core Devices, IDF, APs, Datacenter Infrastructure, etc.)

  Requirements

Field Technician Requirements:

• Experience w/ Ticketing Systems

• Experience w/ Copper + Fiber – Fiber experience as a whole: Will troubleshoot, maintain, and support fiber

• Experience w/ patching cables and wall plates

• Great communication/professionalism skills – will be going into dorms, etc. fixing network issues- will need to have bedside manors

• Ability to learn and eager to grow in career

• Exclusively Cisco infrastructure for devices (2850s, 9300s), Access Points (3800s, 9100s)
