BUNZL Purchasing Coordinator in Riverside, Michigan

Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Purchasing Coordinator to join our team. This position will report to our Purchasing Director. The Purchasing Coordinator will be responsible for assisting the Purchasing Director in executing the company's procurement process, maintaining current customer and vendor relationships, ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services while maintaining high-quality standards, and assist with inventory controls of both current and obsolete products. This role requires strong attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate contracts, terms, and pricing agreements with suppliers

  • Work closely with the Purchasing Director to monitor inventory levels and reorder products as necessary to maintain optimal stock levels

  • Perform monthly review of obsolete inventory

  • Collaborate with internal departments to understand their purchasing requirements

  • Review and analyze purchase requisitions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with policies

  • Process purchase orders and track orders to ensure timely delivery

  • Resolve any purchasing issues or discrepancies that arise

  • Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and supplier information

  • Work closely with the Purchasing Director to continuously evaluate supplier performance and make recommendations for improvement

  • Stay updated on industry trends, new products, and market conditions

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a related field (preferred)

  • Proven experience in a similar procurement role

  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with suppliers

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Attention to detail and strong analytical abilities

  • Proficient in using procurement software and other relevant tools

  • Knowledge of procurement regulations and best practices

  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively

  • Familiarity with inventory management principles

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions
