Wind River Family & Community Health Care Payroll Specialist in Riverton, Wyoming

  • Process payroll timely, accurately, and compliantly for employees and payroll vendors in the organization. Calculates, posts and audits payroll and timekeeping information, utilizing basic mathematical techniques to document and assure the accuracy of employee work hours, sick and annual leave hours. Imports and exports data into an automated system regarding payroll, timekeeping, and personnel information to maintain accurate and up-to-date records. Verifies timekeeping records, maintains time and attendance records using the electronic time management system. Generates, reviews, and verifies payroll reports out of payroll system for accuracy. Prepare and ensures transfers for direct deposits and payroll checks are reviewed by HR designee for accuracy before finalizing for submission. Prepares periodic reports of earnings, taxes, and deductions in accordance with policies and procedures. Prepare and submit federal tax and FICA withholdings to EFTPS. Prepare, verify, and reconcile quarter-end and year-end reports for submission of payment (940, 941, unemployment, workers compensation, etc.). Verifies and reconciles W2s are accurate prior to issuance and filing to IRS. Process calculations and supporting documentation for off-cycle supplemental checks. Research and resolve payroll discrepancies in accordance with policies and procedures. Provides courteous, flexible, and satisfactory customer service by responding to routine timekeeping and payroll inquiries, resolving discrepancies in a timely manner. Keep updated with payroll trends and assist supervisor with payroll policy and procedures. Maintains detailed files and record-keeping systems to assure accurate and complete documentation of payroll/personnel transactions to ensure accountability and controls. Other duties as assigned are to maintain and enhance the operation of the department.
