CNC Programmer/Setup Operator

Location: Roanoke, VA Job Type: Full-time

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled CNC Programmer to join a major manufacturer here in Roanoke. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of CNC programming and machine operation, with a focus on precision and efficiency. This position offers the opportunity to work on a variety of projects and contribute to our company's success.

Shift Options:

  • 5:00 AM - 3:30 PM (Monday-Thursday)

  • 3:00 PM - 12:30 AM (Monday-Thursday)

Responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to set up CNC machines.

  • Utilize computer-aided design (CAD) software to create and modify part designs.

  • Develop and write CNC programs using industry-standard software to control lathe and mill machines.

  • Coordinate with the purchasing manager to ensure timely procurement of raw materials and supplies.

  • Implement and maintain a routine machine maintenance checklist to prevent breakdowns and optimize performance.

  • Conduct quality control inspections throughout the manufacturing process to ensure products meet specifications.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve machine issues to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.

  • Train new staff members on proper CNC machine operation and programming techniques.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or vocational training in CNC programming preferred.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a CNC Programmer or Setup Operator.

  • Proficiency in CAM software, CAD software.

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Pay Details: $26.00 to $32.00 per hour
