Responsibilities

The ERP Technology Services Unit within the AREA division is looking for an IT Technical Specialist II to act as a Data Architect for the Administrative Business Systems section. This position will be responsible for specializing in ERP data across our section, including Ancillary systems as well as Oracle and UKG. This position will play a pivotal role in documenting and organizing our data architecture frameworks. Responsibilities include:

  • Collaboration with cross-functional teams to understand and document how the data flows and is transformed through our systems.

  • Creating easily understandable data architecture documents that can be shared with our business areas and IT support teams.

  • Identifying areas of potential optimization with current data processes.

  • Troubleshooting operational issues with the support teams that might involve complex data flows or data transformations.

  • Provide education to the business and our IT teams on how data is transformed throughout the systems.

  • Understand the data sources for ERP data and how it interacts with Mayo’s key data stores

Key qualities or experiences that are required for this role include:

  • Strong understanding of cloud-based data platforms and integration techniques

  • In depth knowledge of database design, data warehousing, and ETL processes

  • Proven experience in the ERP space, in particular with ERP data flows

  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders

This Technical Specialist II position will not be on a 24/7 on call rotation but will be expected to act as an escalation point should critical issues arise off hours, especially those that concern data errors or complex data scenarios.

This is a full time remote position. Incumbent must live within the United States. Mayo Clinic will not sponsor or transfer visas for this position including F1 OPT STEM.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree and 8 years’ experience including 5 years’ of demonstrated technical experience and 3 years of demonstrated leadership experience OR Associates Degree and 10 years' experience including 5 years’ of demonstrated technical experience and 3 years of demonstrated leadership experience. Often moves among different work areas and seeks to do so. Demonstrated project and deliverable consistency through repeatable and reliable performance. Demonstrates initiative and self-motivation to complete tasks and assignments on time. Proven evidence of project management skills. Demonstrated oral and written communication, organization, problem solving, and facilitation skills. Evidence of mastery level expertise in multiple technologies. Demonstrated ability in solving complex technical problems with multiple technologies. Experience working in healthcare technology. Exposure to managing both custom developed and vendor-supplied applications. Masters degree in applicable field preferred.
