Responsibilities
The Marketing Specialist supports the Mayo Clinic Laboratories global sales team by developing proactive proposals and designing presentations that convey our value story and position us for success with current clients and new prospects. The Specialist also collaborates with a cross-functional proposal team and subject matter experts to write responses for requests for proposals (RFPs) and vendor questionnaires.
The Marketing Specialist will provide strategic marketing consultation and guidance to various clients. The Specialist will partner with the Senior Marketing Specialist and/or Marketing Manager to build marketing plans, as well as drive, implement, monitor, and measure results of marketing activities to advance Mayo Clinic’s mission, strategic plan and business objectives. The Specialist will be involved in the strategic evaluation and tactical execution of marketing activities. The specialist demonstrates a strong understanding of marketing, critical thinking, and strategic counseling.
Additional Responsibilities:
Craft compelling proposals that capture the client’s needs and showcase our organization’s strengths and capabilities
Create content that articulates complex information in a clear and concise manner
Customize previous proposals and presentations to align with new business opportunities
Collaborate with internal teams to gather data for RFPs
Help the Senior Marketing Specialist maintain our proposal content library and develop a strategic response management system
Represent Mayo Clinic internally and externally
Demonstrate project management skills and the ability to manage projects through the entire project life cycle
Proactively seek opportunities to build and improve positive relationships with colleagues, leaders, and experts
Understand and act independently to drive functional strategies forward to advance Mayo Clinic’s mission, strategic plan and business goals
Build credibility with peers and internal stakeholders
Assess opportunities for improvements and demonstrates willingness and ability to adapt to change

This position is 100% remote work; can work from anywhere in the U.S. Occasional travel may be required based on business need.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Technical Writing, Communication, English, Journalism, Marketing, or related field
3 years professional experience writing proposals and/or responding to RFPs
Strong proficiency in Adobe InDesign and Microsoft PowerPoint (please indicate this competency on your resume)
Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills
Meticulous attention to detail
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple projects and meeting tight deadlines
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with proposal management and automation software such as Responsive or Loopio
Proposal writing experience in healthcare
Knowledge of proposal development best practices (please note any applicable professional certifications such as APMP)
Broad based knowledge of marketing strategies
Desire to work effectively in a consensus-style and collaborative environment that expects and promotes teamwork
The ability to inspire trust and confidence and maintain a high degree of professionalism and confidentiality
High personal motivation supporting a strong work ethic, flexibility, and creativity
Has a positive influence on others
