Robert Half Accounts Payable Clerk in Rochester, New York

Description We are seeking an Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team in the healthcare industry located in ROCHESTER, New York. The role involves executing daily processes and controls accurately and in a timely manner in compliance with company policies, managing administrative and clerical needs of the AP/Finance Department, and providing customer service to internal business partners. This role offers a contract to hire employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Handle the administrative and clerical needs of the AP/Finance Department

• Execute daily processes and controls accurately and in a timely manner

• Ensure compliance with company policies

• Provide excellent customer service to internal business partners

• Assist with internal and external audits as required

• Open, sort and distribute daily department mail

• Sort, log, photocopy, and file invoices, checks, and other documents

• Verify, log and mail checks, including expediting special handling

• Undertake special projects as assigned Requirements • Must have a thorough understanding of Accounts Payable (AP) procedures and principles

• Proficiency in MS Excel is required

• Prior experience in the Healthcare, Hospitals, or Social Assistance industries is advantageous

• Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information in a sensitive and discreet manner

• Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Sound decision-making skills and the ability to work independently

• Proven ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure

• Possession of a bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field is preferred

• Familiarity with accounting software and systems is beneficial

• Must have a customer service-oriented approach and excellent interpersonal skills

• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

• Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask effectively

• Demonstrated ability to adapt to new technologies and learn new systems quickly.
