Robert Half Accounts Receivable Collections Specialist I (Tier II) in Rochester, New York

Description We are offering a long term contract employment opportunity for an Accounts Receivable Collections Specialist I (Tier II) in Rochester, New York. This role is primarily focused on mitigating risk through resolution of past due balances, ensuring quality service is delivered to clients in a timely manner. The position is currently hybrid, requiring the employee to work both in-office and from home several times per week.

Responsibilities:

• Answer inbound calls to resolve past due balances and meet daily collections and call goals

• Initiate calls to clients based on risk to resolve outstanding receivables

• Make decisions to release or hold at-risk accounts based on established policies and procedures to mitigate risk

• Research EFT transactions that have been returned from the bank in order to recollect the funds owed by the client

• Evaluate high-risk accounts to determine if they need to be escalated to the internal collection agency

• Escalate client issues to appropriate departments to ensure timely collection on account

• Maintain daily call requirements based on the forecast provided to ensure standards are met

• Process customer credit applications accurately and efficiently

• Maintain accurate customer credit records Requirements • Proficient understanding of Accounts Receivable (AR) processes and procedures

• Demonstrated knowledge of collection processes and mitigation strategies

• Experience in quality service delivery in a financial setting

• Ability to interpret and implement policy related to AR and collections

• Familiarity with Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) systems

• Strong research and analysis skills for resolving account discrepancies

• Proven track record in ensuring quality in all delivered work

• Ability to handle and manage funds responsibly

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for customer interactions

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field would be advantageous
