CDS Life Transitions Associate Director of Production in Rochester, New York

Summary:

The Associate Director of Production is responsible for the planning and execution of production operations within Unistel Industries. The Associate Director of Production provides direct supervision of production staff to ensure quality measures for customer satisfaction are both met and exceeded. The Associate Director of Production works with and provides support to other departments (sales, procurement, order entry, etc) to achieve business goals. The Associate Director of Production works collaboratively with compliance and employment divisions to build and train workforce.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Manage daily operations of production, including order receipt, planning, filling, staging, and outbound shipments.

  • Direct supervision of Production Manager, shipping and receiving personnel, and facilities and equipment manager. Coordinates and approves time off requests for all assigned staff. Responsible for hiring, onboarding, training, and performance management for all production staff.

  • Oversee daily/weekly/monthly production meetings to align production and shipping efforts.

  • Meet with Sales team on an ongoing basis to discuss possible new business and barriers that could be identified.

  • Collaborate with the Safe Quality Foods (SQF) practitioner to ensure compliance and addresses identified concerns.

  • Meet weekly with the Facility and Equipment Manager to discuss/review the cleanliness and functionality of the building and equipment. Oversees any work plans for facilities and action items designated to the facilities manager.

  • Navigate electronic systems (such as SAGE) and run reports as it pertains to, but not limited to, inventory, raw goods, finished goods, and other relevant trends.

  • Participate in submitting quotes for various businesses as needed.

  • Work with business office on issuing credits, collections, and any outstanding reconciliations.

  • Complete performance appraisals as scheduled and is responsible for all aspects of supervision including disciplinary procedures when necessary.

  • Adhere to budget and acts to control costs within the business.

  • Assist with cross coverage of other Unistel activities to maintain quality services.

  • Attend mandatory education and training sessions, as required.

  • Responsible for the execution of fundamentals that apply to food safety and food quality within the SQF program.

  • Adhere to all CDS Monarch policies and procedures.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisor.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to work independently and motivate others.

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

  • Proficient in time-management skills

  • Must be proficient in use of basic Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, Email, and Teams)

  • Maintain all required certifications/training by State regulations and CDS Monarch policy.

    Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree required with 3-5 years’ experience in an area of concentration relevant to manufacturing.

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.

  • Reliable transportation

  • Valid NYS Driver’s License.

  • Maintain all required certifications/training by State regulations and CDS Monarch policy.

    All experience and education requirements, except when required by federal, state, or local laws or requirements, may be waived at the discretion of management with the approval of the Chief Executive Officer, in collaboration with Human Resources.

    Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:

  • Ability to lift at least 50 lbs. dead weight.

  • Ability to sit continuously

  • Ability to reach above shoulder level

  • Ability to turn/twist upper body

  • Ability to use hand for repetitive action and fine manipulating for the purpose of keyboarding
