Encorus Group Engineering Civil Materials Testing Manager in Rochester, New York

Encorus Group is currently seeking a full-time Civil Materials Testing Manager to join our team. This position is based out of our Rochester, NY office.As the Civil Materials Testing Manager, you will ensure that projects meet quality and financial standards by overseeing and coordinating staff in the field and in the laboratory. You will efficiently manage company resources and perform or approve inspections of construction materials like concrete, soils, asphalt, and masonry to meet quality requirements for construction projects and the accredited laboratory.Responsibilities:Lead and manage the civil materials testing division to meet quality and contractual obligations, including testing, inspection, safety, quality activities, and client relationships.Review weekly timesheets for accuracy and completeness.Handle after-hours calls and adjust schedules as needed.Ensure company goals align with established policies and guidance from the Director of Civil Materials Testing.Ensure the laboratory meets the performance requirements of the company's Quality Assurance program and client contracts.Manage assigned projects, including scope, schedule, and budget, to meet company and client objectives.Oversee compliance with CCRL/AMRL, Army Corps, and other regulatory inspections and accreditations.Assist the Director in ensuring high levels of customer service.Prepare cost proposals that meet company guidelines for review by the Director.Perform time and materials estimates for special inspections work. Price work orders.Hire, fire, evaluate, and coach laboratory and field personnel. Conduct yearly performance and proficiency evaluations for technicians.Attend weekly and monthly company meetings.Other duties as assigned.Qualifications:10+ years of experience in civil materials construction or a related field, or 5+ years with an AS or BS degree in construction materials or a related field.Ability to obtain certifications from ACI, NICET, ICC, and AWS, and maintain them as directed by the company.Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.Valid driver’s license and ability to drive for sample collection, field tests, and inspections.Ability to pass a criminal background check and comply with company drug screening, including pre-employment tests.Ability to perform job functions with personal protective equipment, and adverse weather conditions and to climb ladders to access equipment at heights.Preferred Qualifications:Current certifications from the ACI, NICET, ICC, and AWS organizations.

Minimum Salary: 65000 Maximum Salary: 85000 Salary Unit: Yearly
