University of Rochester Clinical Dietitian in Rochester, New York
GENERAL PURPOSE:
Collaborates with members of The Healing Connection and WNYCCCED multidisciplinary treatment teams to provide medical nutrition therapy. Identifies patients¿ levels of nutritional risk, assesses nutrition needs, and identifies nutrient requirements according to age and disease specific needs of patients with eating disorders. Also identifies family member needs and strengths related to meal planning and preparation. Develops and implements the nutrition care plans for assigned patients.
In anticipation of discharge, assists patients and parents/partners to develop skills related to meal planning and in collaboration with the primary therapist, assists parents/partners to develop skills related to meal time support.
Continuously evaluates and monitors the effectiveness and outcomes of medical nutrition therapy intervention. Provides individual and group-based meal planning and nutrition education and counseling to patients and family members on appropriate food selections and eating behaviors to accomplish patient goals.
Actively assesses, evaluates and maintains professional development and competency. Takes direction and receives guidance from the Clinical Director at The Healing Connection for duties performed at the clinic. Reports to Director of WNYCCCED for overall supervision.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reviews verbal and written referral information related to outpatients at The Healing Connection in order to provide recommendations regarding nutritional risk and status, as well as nutrition care planning and intervention for adolescents or adults with eating disorders.
Provides nutritional assessment and individual and group counseling to patients with eating disorders, as well as education for families regarding patient nutritional needs. Engages in individual and group education and skills-building related to meal time planning and coaching.

Is available as an information resource to The Healing Connection and WNYCCCED outpatient multidisciplinary teams. Collaborates with The Healing Connection multidisciplinary team to develop and implement nutrition care plans and support the overall treatment plan for patient and family.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in Nutrition, Foods and Nutrition or equivalent and completion of one-year dietetic internship experience or equivalent required.
Clinical nutrition experience in a health care setting and At least one year of clinical nutrition experience with eating disorders preferred.
or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
Required:
Strong communication skills, the ability to work independently and effectively in a busy, multi-disciplinary medical practice setting.
Ability to prioritize workload and multi-task with accuracy and efficiency required
RD - Registered Dietician upon hire.
CNSC - Certified Nutrition Support Clinician within 1-1/2 years required
CSPN - Board Certified Specialist In Pediatric Nutrition within 1-1/2 years required
Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES) within 1-1/2 years required

Pay Range
Pay Range: $59,280 - $77,085 Annually
The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job¿s compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.
