SUMMARY

As a Clinical Resource Registered Nurse (RN), you plan, organize, coordinate, evaluate and provide guidance in implementing each patient's plan of care.

Interventional Radiology is a specialty which uses imaging (i.e., X-ray, CT, and Ultrasound) guidance to perform minimally invasive diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. These procedures often replace conventional surgery. Some of the most common interventional radiology procedures include:
  • Uterine fibroid embolization - a minimally invasive fibroid treatment
  • Kyphoplasty (balloon kyphoplasty) for osteoporotic compression fractures of the spine
  • Catheter directed thrombolysis
  • Chemoembolization
  • Deep vein thrombosis
  • Radioembolization or selective internal radiation therapy
  • Microwave, RFA, cryoablation of tumors in the liver & kidney
STATUS: Full Time

LOCATION: Rochester General Hospital

DEPARTMENT: Interventional Radiology

SCHEDULE: Day/Evening/Night

ATTRIBUTES
  • Current New York State Registered Nursing license
  • Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing; BSN preferred.
  • For RGH - Minimum 2 to 5 years of acute care experience as a licensed RN.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Development. Develop the plan of care in conjunction with patient, family and others, utilizing community resources and systems; collaborate with health team members to ensure a comprehensive plan of care; use health promotion and health teaching methods appropriate to the patient's developmental level, learning needs, readiness, ability to learn, language preference and culture
  • Evaluation. Consider associated risks, benefits, costs, current scientific evidence and clinical expertise when formulating expected outcomes; modify expected outcomes with changes in the status of the patient or the situation; synthesize available data, information and knowledge to identify patterns and variances
  • Leadership. Teach basic physical assessment skills appropriate for the patient's chronological and developmental age; guide others in recognizing and assessing the individual cultural needs of the patient/family/significant other and in developing a comprehensive plan of care
EDUCATION:
  • AS: Nursing (Required)
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:
  • BLS - Basic Life Support - American Heart Association (AHA)
  • RN - Registered Nurse - New York State Education Department (NYSED)
PAY RANGE: $37.75 - $50.00

The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for successful applicants. It may be modified in the future. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
