OVERVIEW:
The Corporate Controller will be responsible for overseeing the organizations division for the corporate accounting, accounts payable and treasury teams. This role will work directly with the Chief Financial Officer, accounting staff, property management, development and Executive leaders.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for overseeing the Corporate Accounting (2), Accounts Payable (5) and Treasury (7) departments.
Lead several direct reports and a total team of fourteen employees.
Oversee the monthly and annual financial closings, financial reporting, fixed asset accounting procedures, accounts receivables and accounts payables, year-end audits.
Oversee all accounts, ledgers and reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements.
Maintain internal control and safeguards for receipt of revenue, expenses, budgets and actual expenditures.
Support monthly company update materials.
Support with board materials as needed.
Develop and implement financial policies and procedures
Prepare and manage budgets
Help prepare and review annual audited financial statements and tax returns
Analyze contracts and proposals in conjunction with other leadership staff.
Manage and adhere to all operating, regulatory and joint venture agreements.
Oversee all accounting procedures and processes.
Propose enhancements to current procedures and/or processes to continually improve the efficiency and the quality of our work.
Support the CFO on all questions and activities related to the business and financial matters.
Work closely and collaborate with other accounting finance leaders.
Supervise, train and develop accounting leaders and oversight of the larger accounting team.
Key position as a member of the Senior Leadership Team.
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of ten years’ experience in accounting and five years of supervisory experience, with demonstrated increasing responsibility.
Experience in affordable housing, real estate, construction preferred.
Accounting experience working for a public CPA firm and private company.
Strong working experience with GAAP and technical accounting principles, laws, and regulations; ability to quickly learn and adapt to new regulations.
Demonstrated success in advanced financial accounting and reporting.
Highly detailed, analytical, and accurate with proven ability to synthesize and communicate technical accounting, reporting and compliance requirements.
Advanced skills with Microsoft Office including Excel.
Exceptionally organized and detail oriented.
Able to maintain confidentiality and exercise good judgement.
Capable of establishing strong working relationships with team members including the ability to leverage team strengths.
Ability to prioritize independently while managing multiple competing priorities.
Working knowledge of the Yardi system preferred.
EDUCATION/TRAINING:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
CPA is not required qualification.

The salary range for this position is $110,000.00-$125,000.00. The actual compensation may vary depending on a wide range of factors, including experience, skills, qualifications, certifications, location, etc. This range does not include additional forms of compensation such as bonuses.
