Description

The Department of Psychiatry, a department of the University of Rochester School of Medicine & Dentistry, is recruiting a doctorally-prepared clinically-active psychologist for the Institute for the Family. This faculty position is headquartered in the Department of Psychiatry’s Institute for the Family, where faculty have educational and clinical responsibilities, including direct clinical service, and supervision, with an expectation that the candidate will develop a plan for scholarship once settled into the position.

Responsibilities include conducting pre-surgical evaluations in liver and kidney transplantation, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team and providing consultation to the team, patients and families regarding psychosocial needs in the setting of complex medical presentations. This position will support education and coaching of residents in psychosocial knowledge, communication skills, and leadership development with a focus on learners in General Surgery & Orthopaedics. The faculty member will serve as a consultant to educational leaders in both departments.

Interested applicants should have earned a PhD in clinical, counseling, health, or family psychology from an APA accredited training program, as well as have demonstrated experience in medical education. Preferred candidates have clinical/supervisory skills and experience in integrated care (primary and/or specialty care), as well as experience working in academic medicine. Additionally, preferred candidates will have demonstrated experience in competency-based education and coaching modalities. Compensation includes an excellent, nationally competitive base salary, with bonus/moonlighting opportunities, loan forgiveness program, annual CME allotment, and generous benefits package through the University

Qualifications

Must possess a PhD or PsyD in psychology

Must be a licensed psychologist in NYS prior to start

The referenced pay range represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the base range of compensation for this faculty position. Individual salaries will be determined within the job’s salary range and established based on (but not limited to) market data, experience and expertise of the individual, and with consideration to related position salaries. Alignment of clinical incentive-based compensation may also be applicable and will be discussed during the hiring process.
