Position: Heating Technician
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, 52 wks/yr
Salary Range: $40,720 - $55,583/annually
Salary Grade: 8Summary of Responsibilities:
Evaluate heating/cooling systems for appropriate weatherization measures to be completed; prepare work scope, prepare job cost sheet; educate client on proper system maintenance. Clean and tune, repair, replace furnaces, hot water heaters, boilers, and install window AC units as necessary. Provide any other weatherization measures necessary to comply with DHCR/DOE outlined standards. Provide direction and assistance as necessary to the weatherization crew. Prepare reports and documents detailing work needed and work performed.
Qualifications
High School diploma/GED
Minimum of 2 years of documented experience in heating system repair and replacement or a certificate in an accredited HVAC program
Demonstrated ability to work and communicate effectively with diverse groups of people
Candidate must be able to effectively/efficiently manage time and deadlines
Requires health and physical capability to work in a basement setting; crawling, climbing, and carrying heavy equipment
Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and have regular access to reliable transportation.
