University of Rochester High Risk Obstetrics/Maternal - Fetal Medicine - Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant or Certified Nurse Midwife in Rochester, New York

Responsibilities

Exciting opportunity for an advanced practice provider (APP) to work in collaboration with Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM) Faculty and other APPs in provision of clinical care for patients with complex obstetric needs. The position would focus on the pregnancy care of high-risk obstetric patient population. MFM offices are located at Lattimore Road and Red Creek Drive. There are multiple specialty areas and focuses within these offices, including prenatal care and consultations, as well as the Diabetes in Pregnancy program (DiPP), the pregnancy loss clinic, and genetics clinic. The APP as part of the MFM multidisciplinary team provides direct patient care and management, in-basket management, follow up and education for complex Maternal-Fetal Medicine patients. Learners including fellows, residents, APP students, and medical students rotate through these offices. APPs are expected to aid in multidisciplinary care management for all patients in the practices, including coverage of electronic/phone-based patient questions, result and order follow-up, regional care coordination, and participation in delivery care planning teams. Cross-coverage and support of the MFM APP cohort would be expected. Candidates must have excellent communication skills, self-motivation for on-going learning, flexibility and teamwork experience. While work is supported by MFM faculty, who are available at all times, the candidate would need to be able to work independently to see and support patients. Candidates must be NYS NP, PA, or CNM licensed, and eligible for certification. Shifts include daily patient visits and care management, with a minimum of 8 sessions/week. While not required, fetal monitoring experience, perinatal loss certification, nutritionist degree, diabetes experience/certifications, and/or IBCLC certifications would be welcome, as would bilingual skills (any language).

Qualifications

Nurse Practitioner

Require a Master’s degree (or pending) as a Nurse Practitioner, an active New York State Registered Nurse license in good standing, an active/pending New York State Nurse Practitioner licensure in good standing and current/pending national certification as an Nurse Practitioner.

Physician Assistant

Requires completion (or pending) of an ARC-PA approved Physician Assistant program, an active/pending New York State Physician Assistant licensure in good standing and current/pending national certification as a Physician Assistant by the NCCPA ( National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants)

NPs and PAs will demonstrate clinical competence, superior verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal effectiveness and customer relations skills, computer competence and must have an active desire to learn. The APP will participate in the education of learners (students and new employees), using clinical learning experiences, knowledge sharing and skill training.

Pay Range

Pay Range: $44.71 - $67.07

The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum annual salary for this faculty position. Individual salaries will be determined within the job’s salary range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations. Incentive-based compensation may also be applicable and will be discussed during the hiring process.
