Compensation Range:

$18.89 - $26.44

The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.

Responsibilities:

Performs complex laboratory assignments, planning and conducting experiments of limited scope or a portion of a larger and more diverse project. Leads tasks associated with research activities and lab support for lower-level technicians. Serves as unit operations liaison to ensure compliance with departmental or University policies, procedures, and defined internal controls. Ensures accountability and stewardship of University resources (operational, financial, and human) in compliance with departmental standards and proceduresResponsibilities POSITION SUMMARY: Performs complex laboratory assignments, planning and conducting a complete project of limited scope or a portion of a larger and more diverse project. SUPERVISION AND DIRECTION EXERCISED: None. MACHINES AND EQUIPMENT USED: Laboratory equipment, tools and apparatus; computer and/or peripheral equipment. TYPICAL DUTIES: - In accordance with broadly-outlined objectives, requirements and approaches, plans and conducts technical procedures, non-routine and complex in nature. Sets up and operates sophisticated equipment or instrumentation. Constructs major units of equipment. - With latitude for modifying methods and techniques, records, computes and analyzes test data; prepares test reports and makes recommendations. - May review, analyze and integrate technical work of others; assists in psychology, sociology or education studies and experiments involving human/animal subjects. - Prepares computer programs, schematics, specifications, designs, charts, graphs, tables, illustrations, photographs; may assist in preparation of materials for publication. - May perform specialized duties in process or service laboratories, such as photography/illustration services. QUALIFICATIONS: Associate's degree in appropriate discipline plus 4-5 years specialized experience in related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
